While the underlying argument of this piece undoubtedly remains valid, particularly in the United States, much has changed in the United Kingdom in the battles against gender ideology. Not least has been the exposure of the organisation Stonewall, which changed from a charity supporting LGB rights in 2017 to one entirely focussed on replacing sex based rights with those of gender identity. It had been incredibly successful until very recently in undermining women's legal rights throughout multiple organisations from political parties, police forces, government departments, universities and schools.

Various legal challenges including Keira Bell's of the Tavistock and most recently Maya Forstater regarding her gender critical beliefs are challenging gender ideology and receiving wide publicity across the British media, including the BBC . For example, the Women's Hour presenter, Emma Barnett understands the issues relating to women's sex based rights and interviews women involved in these issues in an intelligent and sympathetic manner.

Most importantly, we have a number of organisations across the political spectrum supporting women's sex based rights and challenging gender ideology. These include SexMatters, A Woman's Place UK, the LGB Alliance and Filia. In addition women in the main political parties have set up their own organisations such as the Labour Women's Declaration and Conservatives For Women. We are if course supported by the Equality Act 2010 which lies for women's single sex spaces a d recent announcements from the EHRC.

There remains a huge amount of work to do to ensure that women's sex based rights are maintained in the United Kingdom, not least in relation to the Scottish Government's intended self i.d. legislation.

The different trajectories of US and UK feminism reflect the different strategies that are needed to fight off the insidious incursions of gender ideology into specifically Western white capitalist society. But sharing and comparing them can be useful and instructive.
