It seems to me that gender identity ideology has pushed many who despise the identitarian left because of this ideology into a shared social commentary which perceives anti-semitism everywhere whilst denying Palestinians their humanity. The crassness with which some of these views have been expressed by people I have previously admired has been depressing. Those of us who have avoided what has been seen as 'purity' politics now have to find a distinctive voice.
On one issue I disagree. You make the claim that Israel has the right to conduct some sort of 'proportionate' response to October 7th. Israel has previously conducted such so called 'proportionate' responses which the IDF describes (and which Norman Finkelstein rightly decries) as 'mowing the lawn'. These lawn mowings are oppressive - in 2014, 2251 Palestinians were killed - including 551 children and 299 women - and yet again no just peaceful solution. As you rightly say Zionism has subjected Palestinians to this violent apartheid and it is this which has to end. It is within the power of the people of Israel to find a way to live with Palestinians peacefully - tragically they choose not to.
