just wanted to say how poignant I found Miller's statement re the obtuseness of his colleagues who would say to him, "that can't be true," and Miller's remark that for them to believe in the truth of the matter would necessitate changing their whole belief system, "the realities they cherish." This is a huge statement and I believe goes a long way to explaining why Americans continue year after year to go along with the program whatever it happens to be.
