Fascinates me. The discourse (from the West and sucked in by nonwesterners without a moment of hesitation so convenient was it) since the 60s that Cold War/Imperialism/Nationalism from the West is the source of all problems, well everywhere on the planet, not just in the realm of Islam...that discourse is so funny.

No agency? Ever? No Muslim (like those poor Africans before them) ever made a choice? Ever sold things, people, oil, whatnot....ever gained from associations? Nope.

Just always those supreme whites shaping all of history, always abusing, always gaining, always somehow able to manipulate the kindly innocent oh so communal and gender equal 'poc' of the planet?

And now, tiresome, predictably, Libya is the fault of the West...Italy, RU/US, blah blah...

Problem is not the west: its the patriarchal, hellish sexism and frank obscurantism of Islam, and any country it ever touched.

Why are Libyans (fill in the space with poc from the day brown Jesus was born to now) so incapable of doing anything? So powerless?

Stop blaming. Look within. I'm sure there's a sura or a hadith on that somewhere...
